About
I am an assistant professor of philosophy at Purdue University, specializing in ancient Greek philosophy. I earned my PhD in Philosophy & Classics from Yale University in 2022. Here is my CV. My current research focuses on ancient Greek philosophical psychology, especially perception and its relation to cognition, and topics at the intersection of metaphysics and ancient Greek science, mostly in the works of Plato. My main research project is a monograph on perception (aisthēsis) in Plato's so-called later dialogues. I was born in Germany and grew up there until I was 15, at which point I ignored my (Korean) mother's warnings and headed to South Korea for an exchange year. I then spent my last two years of secondary school in Eswatini, Southern Africa, before coming to the U.S. for college. Outside of philosophy, I enjoy running, Korean food, and puppies.
